Tonny Tanus, M.D., CCRP
Investigator
Dr. Tanus is board-certified with the American Board of Allergy and Immunology (ABAI) and the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). He is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the UCLA School of Medicine, and had a fellowship in Allergy/Immunology at the University of Pennsylvania and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
Dr. Tanus’ interest in researching innovative treatments for Allergy began in 1992 and continues today as an Investigator in phase III and IV clinical trials. He used his passion for research to found Kern Allergy and Medical Research, Inc. in Bakersfield in 2008. His articles and research appear in several medical journals. Dr. Tanus received his M.D. from George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and a B.S. (cum laude) from University of Washington, Seattle.
He is a member of the Kern County Medical Society and is a Fellow of the American College of Allergy Asthma and Immunology (ACAAI) and the American Academy of Allergy Asthma and Immunology (AAAAI).
Dr. Tanus enjoys traveling, spending time with his four children, and playing sports like golf and tennis along with watching football.
Eric J. Boren, M.D.
Investigator
Dr. Boren is Board-Certified with the American Board of Allergy and Immunology (ABAI) and the American Board of Internal Medicine(ABIM). Before joining Kern Allergy Medical Clinic, Inc. in 2008, Dr. Boren was an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of California, Davis (2003-2006), where he also had a fellowship in Allergy/Immunology. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Santa Barbara College Hospital, where he was Chief Resident. He received his M.D. from University of California, Davis, a B.S. in Physiology from UCLA, and an Associate of Science in Biology from Bakersfield College. Dr. Boren has published several articles in medical journals.
His passion for medical research has had an outlet as an Investigator in phase III and phase IV Clinical Research trials since 2008.
He serves on the board of the Kern County Medical Society, and is a Fellow of the American College of Allergy Asthma and Immunology (ACAAI) and the American Academy of Allergy Asthma and Immunology (AAAAI).
Dr. Boren is a Bakersfield native. He is an avid sports fan, and proud father of two children.

Wendy Noriega
Clinical Research Supervisor
Wendy joined our team in 2012 as a Clinical Research Coordinator. She graduated from Santa Barbara with a degree in vocational nursing. In her free time, Wendy enjoys relaxing at home with her family.
Tami McCreight
Clinical Research Coordinator
Tami has been with Kern Research for 5 years. She has worked in the medical field for many years off and on. She was born here in Bakersfield, however raised in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. In her early adult years, she joined the Army to be a mechanic. She was a correctional officer at a maximum-security prison in Nebraska. In her free time, she enjoys long walks and spending time with her dog (Bella). Her major accomplishment was her first (13.1) mile marathon here in Bakersfield 2023.
Andrea Estrada
Clinical Research Coordinator
Andrea joined our team in 2023 as a Clinical Research Coordinator. She enjoys spending time with her family. She is also very creative and enthusiastic.
Jenessa Rodriguez
Clinical Trial Assistant
Jenessa joined our team in 2021 as a Clinical Trial Assistant. She is currently enrolled at Cal-State and looking forward to receiving her Bachelors Degree in Kinesiology early 2024. Jenessa will continue her education in hopes to become a Physician’s Assistant. During her free time, she enjoys being an aunt to her beautiful nephew along with spending time with family and friends.

Ivana joined our team in 2018 as a Clinical Trial Assistant. She is currently attending Taft College to get her A.S. in engineering. In her free time, she enjoys gaming with her friends and traveling.

David joined our team in 2023 as a Clinical Research Coordinator. He has been in the medical field for 14 years. In his free time he likes spending time with family.
